Bio - Chas Prior
My name is Chas Prior and I am running for re-election to the Board of Directors for the Empire Ranch Men’s Golf Club. I have been a member of ERMGC for 13 years and I have seen tremendous growth to the club over that time. I am in my fourth year as a board member and currently serve as the Away Tournament Director.
I retired from 34 years in education; 23 years as a classroom teacher, coach, and athletic director. The last eleven years of my career I served as an assistant principal (8 yrs.) and three years as principal at El Dorado High. As an administrator, I managed budgets, facilities, and personnel. As an athletic director, many of my responsibilities were centered around scheduling of events and facilities. As a league coordinator, I was responsible for scheduling league games and post-season tournaments.
In addition to my experience in education, much of my early career revolved around tournaments and scheduling. I served as an undergraduate intramural assistant at San Diego State and as a graduate assistant in intramurals at the University of Kansas. After college, I served as a tournament director at multiple racquetball clubs and worked with several Parks and Recreation departments overseeing adult and youth leagues.
During my tenure as a director, I have spent many hours learning the data base we use, Golf Genius, and I believe I have become somewhat proficient at creating the tournaments and managing the information necessary to run an event effectively. There is still much to learn, but I feel very confident that if I am re-elected, I can continue to serve the members in any capacity or task I am given. Thank you for your support and I look forward to helping the club continue to prosper.
