Candidate - Chas Prior
My name is Chas Prior, and I am running for re-election to the Board of Directors for the Empire Ranch Men’s Golf Club. I have been a member of ERMGC for 15 years and I have seen tremendous growth to the club over that time. I am in my sixth year as a board member and currently serve as the Away Tournament Director.
I retired from 34 years in education; 23 years as a classroom teacher, coach, athletic director and administrator; assistant principal (8 yrs.) and principal at El Dorado High (3 years). As an athletic director and administrator, I managed budgets, facilities, scheduling and personnel.
In addition to my experience in education, much of my early career revolved around tournaments and scheduling. I served as an undergraduate intramural assistant at San Diego State and as a graduate assistant in intramurals at the University of Kansas. After college, I served as manager of several racquetball clubs and I worked with several Parks and Recreation departments overseeing adult and youth leagues.
During my tenure as a director, I have spent many hours learning Golf Genius, and I believe I have become somewhat proficient at creating the tournaments and managing the information necessary to run an event effectively. I have worked diligently with the various country clubs to develop a very solid working relationship with mutual trust and respect. I feel very confident that if I am re-elected, I can continue to serve the members in any capacity or task I am given. Thank you for your support and I look forward to helping the club continue to prosper.
